Ken Bierschbach: Bio

Ken Bierschbach has been part of the West Michigan music scene for almost 30 years, and his music can be found at the place where pop, rock, folk and country meet; Garth Brooks meets Neil Diamond meets Gordon Lightfoot. Ken’s CD releases include “The Bold Type” (1998), “Somewhere Out There” (2001), and “Voyeur Constant” (2004). He was also a featured writer and performer on “Winter in West Michigan,” a 2001 Christmas compilation CD featuring nine West Michigan songwriters.

Ken's fourth CD, "Brand New Clothes," was released in February of 2010 and contains ten tracks of infectious pop folk fare, served with a side of country...sure to satisfy your inner hippie.

Since 2001 Ken has partnered with local luthier Mark Swanson, first performing with Mark as a duo, and then adding bass player Ron Hovingh to form the popular West Michigan band, "Party Of Three." Sadly, in late 2006 Ron passed away and the band name was retired, but the music continues. Jay Round joined Ken and Mark as bass player, and have been performing in and around West Michigan as "13th Hour," playing "music the way you remember." A performance, however, is much more than a trip down memory lane. While they play plenty of gems from singer-songwriters of earlier decades, you are just as likely to hear an original tune for the first time or a clever pop song that you thought you forgot years ago.
